How Parents Place Helps

Do you have questions about Parents' Place and what we do? Here are some answers.

What is Parents' Place?

The Parents' Place is a Maryland nonprofit organization that provides information to Maryland families of children with all disabilities and special health care needs. We are the statewide Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) and the Family-to-Family Health Information Center.

How Parents' Place can help:

  • Individual assistance is provided over the phone and in-person to families who have questions about their child's needs such as special education and health care access.
  • Workshops for parents and professionals take place on an ongoing basis throughout Maryland.
  • Resources such as information packets and fact sheets are available on a variety of relevant topics.

How do I get started?

Give Parents' Place a call at 410-768-9100 or email. Regular office hours are 9:00 am - 4:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Is there a cost?

Most Parents' Place services are provided free of charge to Maryland families. The Parents' Place receives funding from a variety of government, foundation, and private sources.

What can I expect when I call?

You will be asked some basic information to direct your call to the appropriate person. The majority of Parents' Place staff are parents of children with disabilities themselves who understand what you are experiencing and are ready to help you help your child.

What if I'm not sure if the Parents' Place can help me?

Call us anyway! Parents' Place has many resources, so chances are we can help or we can refer you to more appropriate resources. The Parents' Place helps a wide variety of families and professionals on local, state, and national levels every day.
