Anne Arundel County, Linthicum Heights: ‘MDSibs Conference’
October 17, 2015 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 am EDT
Welcome to the Maryland statewide conference for
siblings of people with developmental disabilities and
others interested in sibling issues.
Welcome to MDSibs 2015. Whether you are 7 years old or 70, a sibling of a person with developmental disabilities, a person with a disability, a family member, a service provider or a professional, MDSibs 2015 is for you!
For the first time, we are bringing people together to discuss the “other” sibling. We will learn about the unique bond between a person with developmental disabilities and their siblings. It is a relationship full of ups and downs – laughter and tears, pride and guilt, enlightenment and frustration – that spans generations and affects the individual, the family, organizations and state priorities and policies.
MDSibs 2015 will bring together all people that care about sibling issues with the following goals:
Meet, interact and network with people that care about sibling issues.
Gain information and share ideas on specific topics relating to siblings of people with developmental disabilities.
Feel supported and connected within a community at the local, regional and state levels.
Identify opportunities for people to build community support and advocate for sibling issues in Maryland.
Join us for a one-day conference to meet, connect and learn about siblings of all ages across the State of Maryland. Join us for MDSibs 2015.
