Baltimore: Parents and Caregivers’ Workshop
August 1 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT
Parents and Caregivers’ Workshop: Being the Best Advocate for your Child Promoting their Health and Wellbeing At Home, School, and Community
Parents and families play an important role in how well children do in school and in the community. They are the first agents at identifying children’s strengths and concerns, opening doors to support and services and ensuring that those doors remain open to meet their children’s needs.
The Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD), in collaboration with The Parents’ Place of Maryland and the Kennedy Krieger’s Therapeutic Foster Care program, invites parents and caregivers of school age children to participate in this free parent workshop!
Participants will be able to:
- Learn strategies on how to effectively work with the school staff to meet your child’s support needs
- Understand children’s social, emotional, and behavioral health and when to be concern
- Recognize the approaches for understanding the need for early evaluation and intervention
- Learn about available intervention resources at school and in your community
