BWI Airport: ‘Wings for Autism’
December 5, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm EST
The Wings for Autism program is designed as an opportunity to provide children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities to have a “practice” opportunity to experience sometimes challenging aspects of airline travel at an airport – parking and shuttling to the terminal, check-in, security, boarding the aircraft and interacting with airport personnel along the way. BWI Airport, Southwest Airlines, and the Transit Security Administration are working with The Arc to help ease potential stresses that the airport experience can cause for individuals with Autism.
Want to participate?? Space is very limited so please consider very carefully whether this would be of help to you or your family. Here are the essentials to know before you commit.
