Montgomery County, Rockville: ‘Transition Times – A group for families of individuals with developmental differences who are transitioning to adult life’

Become informed about the range of issues facing transitioning youth and their families. Learn how other families have faced challenges or solved a problem. Network to learn about community opportunities. Support and be supported by other families and make social connections.

Previous  topics have included: SSI/DDA/DORS/DHHS/Medicaid/HOC, the transition process, sibling issues and roles, marital and family issues, sexuality, residential and vocational options and issues, record-keeping strategies and suggestions, peer relationships, estate and long-term planning, guardianship, waiting list for services, coping skills, finding jobs, self-advocacy, transportation, respite care, and recreation.
