Prince George’s County, Oxon Hill: “Brave Butterflies – Turner Syndrom Society of the United States, Nations Capital Resource Group Event”
February 26, 2017 @ 1:30 am - 3:30 pm
The Nation’s Capital Resource Group will host an educational and social event to support Turner Syndrome Awareness Month.
The event will start with an educational seminar and open discussion for young women and adults by certified genetics counselor, Joanna Martin.
Diagnosed with TS at 15, Ms. Martin will share her personal journey focusing on the lesser
known possible features of Turner Syndrome and potential coping skills for some of the psychological concerns that can come with this diagnosis (breathing techniques to relieve stress and anxiety, for example).
Concurrently, younger girls (and their siblings) may enjoy arts and crafts, as well as making awareness posters while parents connect, swap stories and share resources.
Please RSVP to Nation’s Capital Resource Group co-leaders, Ashleigh Dorfman (Ashleigh@aol.com) or Leslie Popielarcheck (email@example.com).
There is no fee to attend; however, volunteers and donations (healthy snacks and art supplies) are requested. Please contact Leslie (firstname.lastname@example.org) to see how you can get involved with our annual event.
Thank you for your support! We hope to see you in February.
