Devan is a human services professional who is deeply committed to connecting families with meaningful resources and support. As the founder of Brown on the Spectrum (BOTS), Devan built a space dedicated to advancing equity, advocacy, and partnership for those impacted by autism. A 2022 OSI-Baltimore Community Fellow, Devan developed a community-centered initiative through BOTS focused on vocational and employment resources for students with autism and other intellectual disabilities. Devan currently serves on a number of boards and committees including the Maryland Department of Disabilities Advisory Stakeholder Group on Autism-Related Needs. Born and raised in Baltimore City, Devan earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Human Services Administration from Coppin State University. She draws daily inspiration from her son, Liam, whose words—“Let’s get in there!”—continue to motivate her efforts to create lasting impact within the community.
