As a caregiver with a child that faced many challenges in this thing called life, Teresa lives every day with the hope that she can be a light for someone that may be where she once was. When she received the news that her daughter was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, she was lost. Teresa never imagined the long road of so many other obstacles this would take her down, including many other mental health challenges. Although Teresa was burnt out, as a mother of 3, she had to figure it out. Teresa lost her daughter a few months before her daughter’s 30th birthday and now she refuses to allow her daughter’s life to be in vain. Every time she is able to help another caregiver, by giving a tip or a little encouragement, her light is lit up and she feels she is honoring her daughter’s life and memory. It helps Teresa to feel as if her daughter went through life’s struggle to make it easier for other families that Teresa will now help. “As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.”- Mary Anne Radmacher
